Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

A BEAUTIFUL FIGHT
1 Timothy 6: 12 “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
Apostle Paul was talking to his son in the lord and he admonishes him to be part of God’s solders, who is always ready to engage himself in spiritual warfare because the type of battle fought is not the type that uses bows and arrows or guns but the one he must fight with faith.
The Greek word for “good” which was use in this passage is “kalos” which is translated to mean, “beautiful to look at, admirable, commendable.” So Apostle Paul is telling Timothy and us to fight a beautiful, an admirable fight of faith.
The question now is, how do we fight a fight that is beautiful? We fight a beautiful and admirable fight when we fight not according to our human knowledge or strength but according to his will. For example, a man who just lost his job or house, or his finances, will have to fight against it. Naturally his entire system will fight back and the only way the body use in fighting back is by worrying, complaining, thinking etc which will worsen the situation but a man of faith will fight the other way around as Habakkuk 3:17-18 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”
God wants you and I to fight a fight that is beautiful to look at, You fight beautifully because your victory in Christ is already assured.
Child of God, don’t fight with worries, fight on your knees, don’t fight with your tear, fight with your praises, don’t fight with your strength, fight with the sword of the Spirit you have and I am assuring you that you will definitely win.
let us pray, Father as we lay hold to the life which you have given us, and the victory you have won for us, may we receive grace to stand firm in times of difficulties and pain and as we fight the beautiful fight of faith grant that victory will be ours in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
